A Frosty Surprise

I wasn't expecting much exciting this morning when I got up, had breakfast and got my son off to school. But then I got online to do a quick email check and read today's Gotta Pixel newsletter and was SOOO excited to see my layout in the Layout of the Day section!!! It makes my day anytime I get recognized in the Gallery Stand Outs for the day, but Layout of the Day (LOTD) is like getting an Oscar for scrapbooking to me.
I had almost as much fun making this page as we did making the snowman. Gotta Pixel recently celebrated Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) week with a fun thread in the forum and numerous RAKs by various designers of gift certificates to their stores. I was lucky enough to get a $5 gift certificate to Mye De Leon's store where I picked up her A Frosty Surprise kit and wordart. I just loved the colors and those cute snowmen. I knew it would be a great kit for my snowy, winter pictures. Then I checked out the new Topsy Turvy Template challenge at Scrapbook Bytes and picked up Connie Prince's template pieces. I love that challenge because you get the basic pieces of a template and then can arrange/resize them however you want and add any additional pieces you want. When I was done, I ended up with my fun snowman page (image is linked to my gallery at Gotta Pixel).



I just love so many parts of this kit - the blue snowy paper, the yellow plaid paper, the snowflake scatter, the stitching... I'm so happy how they all came together to help me capture this great memory of making a snowman with my son!

On this cold, March morning, it was truly a frosty surprise to get LOTD, and I couldn't be more honored. What a great way to kick off the weekend!!!! Hope you have a great weekend, too!

I woke up to exciting news today! My layout Music Lover was chosen Layout of the Day at Gotta Pixel today. What an honor!!!

I used Lindsay Jane's Boys R Us kit and a freebie template by Cindy Schneider (images are linked). I am SO excited that Cindy is going to start including .png and .page file formats in her template downloads!!

All I Want For Christmas

I love Christmas kits and Connie Prince has an incredible new Christmas kit grab bag out today full of goodies - just in time for Digital Scrapbooking Day! I made several layouts this week with it and am so excited that this one was chosen as Layout of the Day today at Elemental Scraps!!! Woohoo!!!

Layout of the Month Nomination at Stuff to Scrap

After my last post, I was heading off to The Shack for a scrapbooking weekend. What a fabulous time!! I got to spend an entire weekend with a dear friend, enjoy banana splits every night, and get some scrapping done. This is one of the pages I got done from a hike the boys and I enjoyed on a beautiful fall day:


I uploaded it to my gallery at Stuff to Scrap (one of the places you can buy the Time For Fall kit by Just So Scrappy that I used to make this page) and this week it was nominated for Layout of the Month!! Woohoo! This month has had its share of trying moments and this has really made my week!! There are several other beautiful pages nominated as well so there's definitely some stiff competition. The designers vote over the next few days and the results will be announced on the 2nd, so we'll see. This sounds cliche, but really, it's an honor just to be nominated!!!! In the meantime, I'm looking forward to all the big deals to come this weekend at the scrapping sites for National Scrapbooking Day.

Layout of the Day at Gotta Pixel

I am so excited!!! My layout was selected Layout of the Day at Gotta Pixel!! I just started posting layouts this month to the various galleries at the websites where I shop. I get SOOO much inspiration from looking thru these galleries and am just so psyched that someone really liked MY work!! Here's the layout:


I used the Loveable kit by Isabel Mendez and it's on sale this week for just $1! I'm off to do the happy dance around my living room some more now! I used a template downloaded from Creative Memories.
